Try-it Tuesday: Ghosting

As part of my goal for ‘Blogtoberfest’ I am trying to have a schedule for the week. So far, I have H2H Mondays, try-it Tuesdays, 3-for Thursday, and Family Friday.

For this Halloween card I tried out the ghosting technique.  First step is to stamp your image with VersaMark embossing ink, then cover your wet image with clear embossing powder.  Shake off excess, then use your heat gun to melt the embossing. 

When your embossing is cool, use a sponge or dauber and ink all around your images. The ink won’t stay on the embossing so get in there and ink away!

Next you will need an iron. Warm it to the hottest setting. When it is ready, place a scrap piece of paper over your embossed images. Iron over the top. (I used a towel as a buffer.) The embossing will melt away, and end up on your scrap paper.

And, there you have it! A negative image. Cool huh?

H2H Monday

I am loving the weekly Heart 2 Heart Challenges. I really have to think and step out of my creative comfort zone.

This week’s challenge was a Halloween/Autumn challenge. Check out their blog here.

I made this fun fall card with my mother-in-law in mind. Right now she is serving a LDS mission with her husband Gary. They are serving in the Washington D.C. Temple. She recently blogged about a trip they took to the Shenandoah Valley and gushed about the beautiful autumn colors. I hope this card does them justice.

For this card I used all Close To My Heart products. The paper is Colonial White, and accents from the Elemental paper line. The stamp set is ‘Harvest Happiness.’ And, EVERYTHING was cut using the Cricut- Art Philosophy cartridge. I am so in love with this cartridge!

Wonderland Workshop Card #2

Wonderland Card Workshop #1

I just LOVE the brown/blue color combination of the Wonderland kit. Plus, I cannot sing enough praises to the exclusive CTMH Cricut Cartridge, Art Philosophy. I cut out the snowflakes, circle, and scallop with it. Seriously, the last cartridge you’ll ever NEED! But, of course not the last one you’ll WANT! (he!he!)

My First Heart 2 Heart Challenge

I have made some goals for my blog. I was inspired by the blog Fabulously Artsy, and her ‘Blogtoberfest’ challenge. So, I stepped out of my comfort zone, and tried this week’s H2H challenge. You can too! Check it out here.

October! Already!
