Homemade Christmas in a bag.

Today I wanted to show you how easy it is to make a great family/neighbor gift using CTMH products.

For this project I used coordinating paper from the Believe packet, but you could use any themed paper you want. I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the circles for the ornaments, the boxes, tags, and stamp coordinating shapes. I filled the boxes with candy, as well as the triangle tubes. I used the Ribbons & Rosettes cricut cartridge to make the bag decoration, and this can also double as an ornament.  I’ve made a few of these ‘kits’ in different themes, and can’t wait to deliver them to friends and neighbors!

Thankful Thursday

(I know, a little change…but I thought it was appropriate considering Thanksgiving is only a week away.)

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. I’m up and walking, which leads to more pain. And, I find it takes at least three times longer to get household stuff done. Not much time for crafting.  That being said, I have a ton of Thank you cards to get out. I’m so grateful for all the help that many have given to me and my family these past weeks!

This card was so easy to make that I ended up making 10! I’m going to try this with different collections too! I used the retired Miracle papers. I cut the flowers using the Art Philosophy Cartridge, and the coordinating stamps are Hooray Bouquet.

Try-it Tuesday: Ghosting

As part of my goal for ‘Blogtoberfest’ I am trying to have a schedule for the week. So far, I have H2H Mondays, try-it Tuesdays, 3-for Thursday, and Family Friday.

For this Halloween card I tried out the ghosting technique.  First step is to stamp your image with VersaMark embossing ink, then cover your wet image with clear embossing powder.  Shake off excess, then use your heat gun to melt the embossing. 

When your embossing is cool, use a sponge or dauber and ink all around your images. The ink won’t stay on the embossing so get in there and ink away!

Next you will need an iron. Warm it to the hottest setting. When it is ready, place a scrap piece of paper over your embossed images. Iron over the top. (I used a towel as a buffer.) The embossing will melt away, and end up on your scrap paper.

And, there you have it! A negative image. Cool huh?

H2H Monday

I am loving the weekly Heart 2 Heart Challenges. I really have to think and step out of my creative comfort zone.

This week’s challenge was a Halloween/Autumn challenge. Check out their blog here.

I made this fun fall card with my mother-in-law in mind. Right now she is serving a LDS mission with her husband Gary. They are serving in the Washington D.C. Temple. She recently blogged about a trip they took to the Shenandoah Valley and gushed about the beautiful autumn colors. I hope this card does them justice.

For this card I used all Close To My Heart products. The paper is Colonial White, and accents from the Elemental paper line. The stamp set is ‘Harvest Happiness.’ And, EVERYTHING was cut using the Cricut- Art Philosophy cartridge. I am so in love with this cartridge!

Wonderland Card Workshop #1

I just LOVE the brown/blue color combination of the Wonderland kit. Plus, I cannot sing enough praises to the exclusive CTMH Cricut Cartridge, Art Philosophy. I cut out the snowflakes, circle, and scallop with it. Seriously, the last cartridge you’ll ever NEED! But, of course not the last one you’ll WANT! (he!he!)

My First Heart 2 Heart Challenge

I have made some goals for my blog. I was inspired by the blog Fabulously Artsy, and her ‘Blogtoberfest’ challenge. So, I stepped out of my comfort zone, and tried this week’s H2H challenge. You can too! Check it out here.

This week’s challenge was all about the numbers, and here is my interpretation of that:

October! Already!

Magnetic Tangram

My four year old daughter is so creative. But, she gets bored doing the same things over and over. So, I thought she might enjoy these little puzzles to keep her busy.

I started out with a square 6x6 piece of paper. I used My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collection. It's double sided so easy to mix up.

I found this awesome magnetic dry erase board in the clearance section at Target!

To make the Tangram pieces magnetic, I just used the Magnet Laminate cartridge for my Xyron 5"

Then I made an envelope using the Crafter's Companion enveloper. Super easy. I attached two buttons with hot glue, and tied some kite string around one. Then I used double sided tape to attach the envelope to the board.

Finished Product! And, already my daughter is LOVING it!

Soon, I'll have some new stuff to show you using Close to my Heart products. I just decided to become an Independent Consultant for this company. I'm so excited to get my kit and the amazing products they offer!
